Other Sacraments

Christians celebrate seven sacraments - ways God has given us to bless us, and share life with us.

A Sacrament is ‘an outward and visible sign, of an inward and invisible grace’

  1. Baptism (Christening)

  2. Holy Communion (Holy Eucharist or Mass)

  3. Confirmation

  4. Reconciliation (Confession)

  5. Anointing of the Sick

  6. Marriage

  7. Holy Orders (ordination as deacon, priest and bishop)

If you would like to explore Baptism, Confirmation, being admitted to Holy Communion (First Communion as a child), or Reception into The Church of England from another Christian denomination, please speak to the clergy after a service.

The clergy of St Giles’ are always available to be called upon for the Anointing of the Sick or dying, and to hear Confessions/the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Please do not hesitate to be in touch.

As well as to accompany people in asking, what is God calling me to? Is it life as a deacon or priest? Or another calling to serve the Church and the world?

If you would like a conversation about any of the above, come to a service at St Giles’ and speak with the clergy afterwards.
