St Giles’ Cripplegate 60th Anniversary Festival

Rebuilding, Rejoicing, Renewing, 30 August - 13 September, 2026

Join your neighbours in the Parish of St Giles’ Cripplegate to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the church’s reopening after its destruction in the Blitz.

All are welcome to all events and services.

All events and services are located in the church and free unless otherwise noted.

  • Historical Exhibition, Sunday 30 August - Sunday 13 September, during opening hours

  • Eucharist followed by a peal of bells, Sunday 30 August, 10-11:15am, with coffee, cake and sherry after the service

  • Bank Holiday guided walk around the Barbican, Monday 31 August, meet at St Giles’ at 2pm

  • Eucharist for St Giles’ Day followed by reception, Tuesday 1 September, 6-7:15pm

  • Swinging 60s Party with live band and quiz, Friday 4 September, 6pm. £5 on the door

  • “Play like a girl” annual young organists’ event, Saturday, 5 September, 10.30am - 3.30pm

  • Eucharist, Sunday 6 September, 10-11:15am, with coffee, cake and sherry after the service

  • Evensong with Solis Choir, Sunday 6 September, 4-4:45pm

  • “Celebration” Organ Duo Concert, Wednesday 9 September, 6:30pm. Bar opens from 6pm (free concert, paying bar)

  • Barbican Residents’ Party, Saturday 12 September, 12-5pm

  • Eucharist followed by a peal of bells, Sunday, 13 September, 10-11:15am, with coffee, cake and sherry after the service
